David, I am starting a new business and I am kind of lost, do you have any advise you can help me with?

This is something we get a lot. It is exciting to start a new business. For one, you are now working on building your own wealth and not building it for someone else.  I am about to give you the secret to building personal wealth and I am going to give it to you for FREE.  That secret is leveraging other peoples time and skills.

You can only do a possible 24 hours of work in a day. That is all the time there is in a day. But if you have 4 more people working for you, then you now have 5 times those 24 hours.  Now no one is going to work 24 hours a day. So break it down to 5 hours a day. You can do 5 hours of work. You and 4 others, can do 25 hours worth of work which increases your chances of getting things done and making more money. There is more to it than that, but it is the basic gest of it.

Time is a valuable thing. Getting valuable advise when just starting out is key to your success. There are some that build a successful business from scratch and it works out fine. But in reality, a lot of businesses go under in the first couple of years. Would you care to take a guess as to why that is? Most times it has to do with being able to get the capital you need to run your business and not use your personal money and credit to do so.  If the company goes bust and you have personally backed it or backed the credit and loans? your personal credit is going down the drain.

Where is you build your business credit off your business EIN, then you are not personally responsible for the debt. The business is. One way to tell if it will hurt your persoanl credit score is to see if your business debts are showing on their. If they are not, you should be in pretty good shape. Or the oposite can happen. If someone has bad personal credit, they can build business credit which will not use their own personal credit to obtain new credit. It will be built in the business name instead.
